Step-by-Step Inspection

1

Check Activation Lock

Ask seller to erase the iPad. It must show Hello/setup screen and must not ask for the seller’s Apple Account.

2

Check model, serial, and storage

Go to Settings → General → About. Confirm model name, storage, serial number, and cellular capability if included.

3

Check screen and touch

Test brightness, colors, dead spots, lines, ghost touch, cracked glass, and touch response across the whole screen.

4

Test Face ID or Touch ID

Check if Face ID or Touch ID works. This is important because repair can be costly.

5

Test cameras and microphone

Test front camera, rear camera, video recording, microphone, and video call quality if possible.

6

Test speakers and buttons

Play audio and test volume buttons, power button, mute switch if available, and vibration/haptics if available.

7

Test Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular

Connect to Wi-Fi, pair Bluetooth, and insert SIM or test eSIM if it is a cellular model.

8

Test charging port

Plug in charger and check if charging is stable. Wiggle the cable gently to check loose port issues.

9

Test Apple Pencil / keyboard

If included, pair and test Apple Pencil, Magic Keyboard, Smart Keyboard, or Bluetooth keyboard.

10

Check physical condition

Inspect frame bending, dents, corners, camera lens, back, screen, charging port, and signs of liquid damage.
