Follow this checklist to safely erase your iPhone, remove your Apple Account, and prepare it for the next owner.
Use this path on your iPhone:
Go to Settings → your name → iCloud → iCloud Backup → Back Up Now.
Check banking apps, GCash, Maya, email, WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook, and authenticator apps.
If you have an Apple Watch connected, unpair it before erasing the iPhone.
Go to Settings → your name → Sign Out. This removes Find My iPhone and Activation Lock.
Remove physical SIM. If you use eSIM, erase it during reset if you will not use it anymore.
Go to Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Erase All Content and Settings.
After reset, do not set it up again. Turn it off and give it to the buyer.
Check each item before handing the iPhone to the buyer.
The buyer should see the first setup screen only, usually showing “Hello” or “Choose Language.” If your Apple Account still appears, the reset is not complete.
